In their own words:

“National Citizen Service (NCS) is an experience you really don't want to miss. If you're 15 to 17 years-old, this is your chance to embark on exhilarating challenges, make your mark and build skills for work and life. Don't. Miss. Out.”

Skills gained:

  • Communication

  • Problem-solving

Further opportunities:

Get exclusive access to the NCS Graduates’ Opportunities Hub. Apply for International Citizen Service and go overseas for 10-12 weeks - you fundraise only £800 for the experience!

What you do:

You can sign-up for NCS online. NCS is divided into 4 parts:

  • Week 1 - adventurous activities at an outdoors centre

  • Week 2 - spend a week away cooking and budgeting for yourself and learning key leadership skills

  • Weeks 3 + 4 - plan, fundraise and deliver a social action project

Your social action project is up to you - you could organise a charity gig, sports day or community picnic. Dream big!

Why do it:

NCS is nationally recognised by universities and employers as a programme that develops young people into leaders. You will gain many useful skills and support your local community by volunteering.
