Summary:
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an established award that encourages a range of skills and interests - it is a great way to develop leadership skills and try new things.

What you do:
There are four key parts: physical, skill, volunteering and the expedition. You do each section for 1hr/week.

Bronze: 3 months + 6 months in 1/3 sections + 2 day expedition

Silver: 6 months + 3 day expedition

Gold: 12 months + 4 day expedition + 5 day residential
Almost any activity counts towards your DofE - you get to do what you want to do.
Why do it:
The DofE is a super way to show employers that you have dedication and can manage your time well. It’s quite likely you are already doing most of the activities required, so the DofE is a good chance to get formal recognition for your hard work!
