Summary:
The British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Awards are nominated awards which recognise young people for making a positive difference in their communities.
In their own words:
“Every day in the UK young people are doing extraordinary things to make a difference to the lives of others. The British Red Cross wants to celebrate these extraordinary young people by holding annual Humanitarian Awards for children and young people.”
Further opportunities:
Short-listed nominees are invited to an awards ceremony in the House of Commons and prizes for the winners are sponsored by Canon.
What you do:
Young people can be nominated via an online form in four categories:
-
Fundraising: know someone who has shaved their head or run a marathon for charity?
-
First aid: know a young person who has put someone in the recovery position or helped treat a broken bone?
-
Community action: has anyone gone out of their way to help your local community?
-
Volunteering: do you know anyone who helps the homeless or who cares for older or vulnerable people?
