About us
The Youth Opportunity Bureau (YOB) is a youth-led project determined to guide young people to the very best opportunities (both online and in the real world). If you are searching for volunteer, leadership or award programmes, you’ve come to the right place!
We decided to start YOB when we realised that lots of young people are missing out on loads of amazing opportunities simply because they don’t know about them. So rather than focus on creating new opportunities, we thought that we could instead bring existing opportunities to young people!
The aim of our project is to set out (in easy to access profiles) the range of tools, funding opportunities, awards and leadership activities currently available.
We’ve had so much fun developing this project and are so grateful to vInspired for the generous funding. We hope that this will be a useful resource for you all.

We think young people are often unfairly presented in media as disengaged, uninterested and unproductive. The word ‘YOB’ has come to label an entire generation of young people as louts and hooligans. We are taking back ‘YOB’ by both supporting young people to do awards that formally acknowledge their achievements, and encouraging them to take part in activities that show their passion to drive positive change.
We believe in young people and believe that volunteering is one of the best ways they can make the most of their talents while gaining valuable skills. If you can dream it, YOB promises to bring you the best opportunities, tools and funding to make those dreams a reality!
